  Report of the protective reconnaissances and excavations near Zarya Svobody (Povorotnoye) village in Nakhimovskiy district, Sevastopol city, in 1973

Archaeological excavations and reconnaissances were made by Chersonesos Historical and Archaeological Museum in 1973 six kilometres far from the estuary of Belbek River, on the south outskirt of Zarya Svobody (Povorotnoye) village, IV district of Sofya Perovskaya Sovkhoz, as a nonscheduled project of the Museum, because of the building of Simferopol-Sevastopol motorroad.

It was September 1973 when the South Crimea Team of the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR made a reconnaissance of prehistoric sites in the area from Laspi Bay to Sarych Cape in the South Coast of the Crimea. They have investigated 12 terrace sites total.

The excavation of rural settlement near the present-day Zarya Svobody village were conducted by the force of students of the Historic Faculty of the Ural State University, the team headed by the candidate of history A. I. Romanchuk. The works were conducted from July 15 to September 5. 1974 excavations have supplied interesting materials allowing to draw conclusions regarding the cultural and economic image of the given settlement. A series of monuments from different periods have been investigated in the settlement area.
