Farmhouse at kleros no. 86

The kleros is located at the very seashore, near the north-eastern tip of Omega (Kruglaya) bay. It occupies a promontory projecting into the sea and has irregular outline of the sea coastal strip: they are recorded on the plan compiled by Strokov in 1786. The site was not included into the number of the kleroi described by S. F. Strzheletskiy.

Report of the protective reconnaissances in the ancient farms no. 49, 50, 51, 61, 62, 63 and protective excavations of farm no. 66 in the Gerakleyskiy Peninsula. The area where these farmsteads had been located was under modern construction works, so there was a need to continue the study of farming area of Chesronesos exactly in this area of the Gerakleyskiy Peninsula.

In 1975, the Gerakleyskaya Expedition of the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and the Historic Faculty of the Moscow State University in cooperation with N. K. Krupskaya Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute and the State Chersonesos Historical and ArchaeologicalMuseum continued the excavations in the Gerakleyskiy Peninsula.  TheExpedition was headed by Doctor of History I. T. Kruglikova, and the team of the Moscow State University that immediately excavated the farmhouse at kleros no. 9 was headed by S. Yu. Saprykin. The team included teachers and students on training from the Historic Faculty of the Moscow State University. The main attention of the team was concentrated on the studies of the farmhouse itself.
